Turns out it's supposed to be a tribute to Megaman's gameplay, although the level design leaves much to be desired. I honestly thought this would be one I'd call a flash-like (I am on a roll with these names), as it plays like a flash game: generic, flat, extremely horizontal design. So this one is quite the departure from the previous one's gameplay.
for what I'd usually call a mod, it is a solid effort, although the physics are quite weird. It has about the same quality and you get to rescue people along the way. given how deep (not really) the story for the first Castlevania games were, I can't really argue with the narrative effort here. Suffice to say, different zones will trigger different game over screens so getting yourself killed is at least justifiable. It is clear however that it is quite the passion project and a tribute to the Castlevania games, but filled with erotic stuff.
LIBRA HEART TOWER OF SUCCUBUS MOD
Plays like a Castlevania 3 mod without the companions, as it reuses and readapts tons of sprites from the original, with a not-so-original name for the protagonist (Simone.
LIBRA HEART TOWER OF SUCCUBUS SERIES
Anyways it's as I said above: this series has its fair share of clones and this one is the one that will feel the most cloned. Suffice to say, now you know why the english version is translated to this. Castle of Succubus: in case you didn't know, Castlevania is a slightly different name and a non-accurate translation of Akumajō Dracula (the japanese name for the series). Unfortunately most will fall into what I'll call the "Classicvania-like" and "zelda-like" genres (in plain mockery of the souls-like genre if you didn't get it), although they are at least some pretty solid fun clones to play through. And I was surprised to find that there was at least some effort of replicating the success from already established former classic retro games with a succubus spin on it. gratuituous to say the least, but gameplay mattered. And oh boy did I find it: the Succubus series by LibraHeart.Īs you might have already guessed by all of this discourse, these games are obviously +18 and feature your typical H-gallery and erotic imagery. I was determined to find at least one single videogame that portrayed succubi more proeminently, without sacrificing gameplay and compensating for it with extra anime-lewd crap. As you might have already guessed, the latter is certainly high in number. The succubus is either just a generic female DnD devil with little to no back backstory to it, or gets a minor role with a play on her own nature (Fallen-From-Grace from Planescape Torment comes to mind), or gets shoved into hentai games.

To save you the gist of it: everything is shit (save for books and a certani TV series I'm yet to properly watch, although it seems. Being the hot blooded straight male that I am, naturally I began my media research on succubi. In short: the vampire myth has enjoyed quite a lot of proeminence, having enjoyed several major roles and having entire plots revolving around them.īut could the same be said for other fantastical creatures, like werewolves, fishmen/mermaids, Yeti, succubi, zombies.? Well, zombies certainly enjoyed a fair bit of success too (only to eventually die off, but so did vampire stuff and gothic media in general), but the rest of these supernatural creatures either did not get attention at all, or said efforts to include them into pop culture more proeminently have resulted in fairly weak efforts, cameos or lesser roles.Īnd this is where the horniness comes in. Castlevania featuring Dracula as an all powerful vampire seeking dominion over mankind, while Bloodrayne featured a damphir going on a nazi-killing campaign and bloodsucking her enemies, as well as Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines (one of the GOAT in my humble opinion), which proeminently feature vampires throughout the game. Said media usually feature vampires in a. Two things: first, I've noticed that several games and movies dealing with gothic, dark fantasy stuff usually involves vampires. Also, being alluring enough to keep me interested would be a bonus. So, how did it come about? It all began with "end of the semester panic" and a desire for simple enough games that weren't stupid easy.
Well, it was bound to happen one day (don't worry, the link is SFW).
